  1. George Carlin:

I thought the clip of Carlin preforming the 7 words was really memorable in this performance. The main thing I learned about Carlin was how he used profanity to touch on sensitive, social subjects that other performers had never done before. from Christian

  2. I thought it was interesting that he was the first to earn an award after his death. I also thought the video was a great representation for his humor, which in my opinion is very funny.

  3. I have always loved Carlin, but listening to him in your presentation was like poetry. The way he built on his jokes through his words and tempo. What a genius, and everyone thinks of him as a comedian.

  4. What an awesome guy! I really enjoyed listening to this presentation. The video was awesome too. I cannot believe someone can be this vulgar and care so little about the 'rules' of our society. It is amazing that even after his death that he received such a highly honored award.
    Great job presenting!

    1. I've heard the name, but really had no idea who he was, so thank you for explaining him to me. I enjoy the clip of his Infamous 7 words. that made me laugh. I was glad to learn that he wasn't afraid to talk about the sensitive subjects. The fact that her didn't really care either made it even better. The style of the power point was done very nicely and organized. I had no idea that they are trying to get a street named after him.

  5. The power point you used didn't have much writing on it all, making us focus on you and not just stare at your slides, good job, and your video clip was perfect for Carlin. If he didn't host Saturday night live first, it probably wouldn't have turned out so big.

  6. I found it interesting that he would talk about sensitive subjects that no one else would, especially government. I liked the video you showed, it was definatly a laugh and it showed how he incorperated poetry.

  7. Wow! What a great and effective presentation you left us with. I would recommend some breathing techniques for next time because you seemed a little nervous when speaking. As in all classes you should remember that it is a safe and judgment free environment. George Carlin was a character for sure and I liked that he was bold enough to touch on those sensitive and controversial topics that most brush under the rug because it makes them easier to discuss when they are used in a comical sense. The video was really funny and I am glad that you shared it with the class and was impressed that you gave the warning at the beginning of the presentation because that was really respectful of everyone in the classroom.

  8. I have to say this was definitely one of my favorite presentations mostly because you were studying a comedian. The video you showed us I thought was hilarious. In my next class I looked up a video or two of him at his shows, very funny. Good work on presenting.
