  1. It seems like Jim Henson was a very iconic person in entertainment using puppets. I find it really cool that he help create sesame street and not only made it entertaining but also added in education for the kids so that they were getting something more out of it. What a great job knowing the information and teaching it to us. I thought you also made a great use of the slides in your presentation.

    4. Your content was really good- I liked how both of you pointed out how he revolutionized the puppets by telling us what he changed and why that made it better.
You guys really knew your stuff, which made your speeches easy to hear, and your hand out was interesting, also.

  2. Jim Henson revolutionized the use of puppets. He invented the glove hand and arm rods. He had a great impact on movies and TV shows. His puppets and methods are still used today. The style of Christian and Clay's presentation was well organized with use of great examples and pictures along with detailed analysis.

  3. This was a such a good presentation. I loved how passionate you seemed to be about the topic. He really influenced alot of people it seems and I didn't realize the impact that he had on the educational aspect of our time. Yoda, TMNT, Muppets are all iconic items that he created and will live on for a very long time, if not forever. He has created so many things that I still enjoy!

Below is a really creative video using the sesame street characters and remixes I'Sexy and I know it by LMFAO

  5. -Great presentation of how Jim Henson was influential of how children can learn through television shows, and how he was iconic for his use of puppets. Also how he has helped influence characters from popular movies, such as yoda.
-Really described and analyzed the impact that Jim Henson made on society. I feel like I have gained a great amount of knowledge about Jim Henson from Clay and Christian's presentation.

  6. I really liked the facts that you guys had to back up why he was really influential. I didn't know that Sesame Street was really the first of its kind and that it's got over 4,300 episodes. I liked how you explained the 'Marionette vs. Hand and Rod' method, because I wouldn't have been able to picture it. Great job!

  7. In my opinion, I completely agree that Jim Henson was the most iconic person in children's entertainment. I find it remarkable that he not only created 42 seasons, 4300 episodes, but that they were shown in 120 countries and in multiple languages. I believe that shows like the Muppets and Sesame Street will be around for many more years to come.
I also really like your quote on your last slide because it can apply to anyone's life; "Life is a movie, you make your own ending."

    1. I had no idea how big of a success Jim Henson was. When I think muppets, I would always just think Kermit the frog and Miss Piggy, I had no idea it was such a hit, especially with adults. The quote at the end slide, "life's a movie, write your own ending" really struck a chord with me and I thought it was a good quote to put in there. It sounds like Jim Henson would have been a really cool guy to have known because of how nice of a guy he was; it's a shame he died at such an early age. I also did not know that he revolutionized the puppet world by creating the rod and hand method; very interesting!

  8. It was very interesting that after only having the marionettes for puppets that Jim Henson was able to come up with the "hand and rod" method puppets and how they were successful right away. Nice presentation. You did a nice job using with including good quotes in your slideshow.

  9. Really enjoyed this presentation. I think what stood out to me the most was the passion that these two showed during their presentation. I learned that Henson was not just responsible for creating a couple of shows and puppets but truly revolutionized the puppet industry and even the schooling industry for young kids. It was really great to mention what a nice guy Henson was, it helps to understand this man more. If you don't know what a person is like, it is hard to imagine their work and them as a person. Henson is very easy for me to imagine.

    2. This presentation was really well developed. I thought you both did a great job of knowing about your Iconic person and had great ways of showing just how iconic they were. I didnt know that the first puppets had the permanent facial expressions. It seems like puppets have really come a long way from then. Today's puppets that are full body characters are very cool.

  10. I found it interesting that Jim Henson created a new kind of puppet that we see all the time now. It's amazing to see the rage of audiences that he could appeal to. I think that Clay and Christian did a nice job of presenting the information. They seemed very knowledgeable about Jim Henson and all that he did.

  11. When you guys present I liked how enthusiastic you were. You knew your information well. I liked the fact that you brought the point that Sesame Street was for childhood education and the Muppet's were for adults (entertainment). Nice job!

  12. Learned a lot about the muppets, thank you. The influence Henson had on children and even adults lives is profound. My earliest memories is of Seaseme Street and sing along with the muppets and not even realizing I was learning something. Great use of the slides and quotes of Henson.
