Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) was the president and prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. He was also a teacher and a sailor before he became such a powerful figure. He established a communist government in Vietnam. he was one of the founders of the French Communist Party. He fought for independence and unity of Vietnam. I think it's interesting how after he died that the city was renamed after him.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this was the city that was the last to fall in the war and it was renamed after him.
DeleteIt is good that he was so well traveled and learned other trades before he became a powerful figure because then he could relate to the people he was governing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it was good that he already had some experience and could understand the people.
DeleteI find it interesting that many communist rulers have background knowledge in western ideals and culture.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know that he tried to do good for the country even though he established a communist party
DeleteSounds like a guy who could be very famous in one perspective and infamous in another. Amazing how a simple teacher and sailor can rise up to be a leader.
ReplyDeleteIt is too bad North and South Vietnam couldn't reunite like Ho Chi Minh wanted.
