Ain't Scared of Your Jails
One of the things that interested me "Ain't Scared of Your Jails" is that how even though the first group of Freedom Riders were very brave, but the groups that rode after them knew what happened to the ones who went before them but went anyway. One of the first Freedom Riders said "we are willing to accept death," and it was pretty amazing that the following groups saw how the others were beaten and arrested, but were willing to sacrifice themselves to try to end segregation.

I agree with comments on the quote. That is amazing and it shows how determined they were.
ReplyDeleteThat is true, the fact that they knew there was a big chance they could've been killed makes them even more brave. I don't know if I would be brave enough to do that.
ReplyDeleteI agree. At first I was shocked that so many people would continue to do something after hearing what happened to others before them but, this just shows that if something is important to you then no matter what you'll stand up for what you believe in.
