Exp 6 part 2

The passage that I liked was Aung San Suu Kyi. in this situation Aung took a very humanitarian approch to create a democratic government for the Myanmar people. She grew up in a very political family. Her father especially, founded the Burmese army and negotiated freedom from British rule. Her mother was an ambassador for India and Nepal along with working with various governments. Once the leader general Ne Win stepped down it was time for democracy and that's exactly what Aung wanted. She founded The National League for Democracy persuading that all acts should be non-violent and she would not give up. She got under house arrest but shrived to not fail. She even had to leave behind her family. Her perseverance lead to a noble peace prize. This was a heroic stand on her part because it shows how one person can make a difference.

  1. I can only imagine that having my father killed because of politics would be a great motivator to raise awareness and fight for a democratic nation once and for all. She is so determenined and stays so strong through everything because she know it will be worth it in the end. I like when she says they will "forget the past if they can look forward to a brighter future." I think more people should have that mentality and a lot more would get accomplished.
