Exploration Six: "Shrouded in Contradiction"

PART ONE--I think that the writer feels contradicted because she can see that everything is not always the same everywhere you go. She can see that when she is in Florida that she can wear what she wants and no one will make remarks, but when she goes back home to Iran, she must dress in full coverage, showing nothing but minimal face and hands. I think she shares this in her writing because she is frustrated that things are not equal wherever you go. Men and women's rights are not the same and she is upset by this.
I can compare this to my life when it comes to

PART TWO--My favorite part was in the first passage when Aung San Suu Kyi's son quotes her saying, "To live the full life, one must have the courage to bear the responsibility of the needs of others . . . one must want to bear this responsibility".

  1. I'm not so sure I agree with that quote that her son said. I think that in life you should try to help others as much as possible, but it isn't something that you always have to bear. It shouldn't necessarily be your burden.
