Shrouded in Contradiction

Gelareh Asayesh, the author of "Shrouded in Contradiction", has always had the conflict between her religion's choice of clothing and her freedom of choosing what she wishes to wear. She loses her sense of freedom when she wears hijab, but she also feels that people are judging her if she is not wearing hijab. To relate this to my own life, is going to school. Sometimes I become overwhelmed with homework and feel like I'm almost to my breaking point, but then I realize that I must remain in school and study hard to get somewhere in my life. Sometimes I love school, and sometimes I dislike school because of the amount of stress it puts me under.

  1. I would have to agree 100% with you on this topic. I struggle with the same thing, stress of school and work. Sometimes I too wonder if it is all worth it because it sure is a challenge. I think this conflict is fought by a lot of college students.

    1. School is also very difficult for me too. The stress of school, work, family, friends, and other life struggles can be very challenging and stressful. I know in the end it will all pay off.

  2. School is very stressful for me as well, i have made friends from it though, but the whole homework thing, ugh thats just so annoying. SOmetimes I feel " Wow, been going to school for my whole life and look what i get to do for another 3 or 4 years, go to school" I just hope that everything pays off.

    1. As with the other posters, I have to agree that school has to be one of those love/hate situations. I too stress dearly about the pressure of school and homework. One way I thought to look at it is that it's a blessing in disguise because once you're all done with it you'll be so happy that you went through with it. Reaping the benefits after it is always a plus too.
