MLK "Beyond Vietnam" speech

Martin King gave this speech declaring that the war acts on Vietnam was a mistake. He does not support President Johnson and he also disapproves on violence. He feels that war will turn into communism. http://antiwar.com/orig/bromwich.php?articleid=12844

    1. I always admired MLK's approach of conflicts by using non-violence to solve crises.

    2. I also think MLK was amazing overall and I also agree that the vietnam war was a mistake. Getting involved in a war like that makes us look no better than the communists.

  2. I think it is crazy how he just put his opinion out there and didn't care what others thought. What a brave man!

  3. These are really good points that MLK made and I think they are important because so many people were speaking out about the war we were involved in and as in anything else there are always people who support it and don't support it. This was a war that changed the way an entire generation of people saw the American government.

  4. I agree with MLK wholeheartedly about spending more money on social and less on defense, but there is always someone (Bin Laden the most recent) that will make us keep our guard up. It would be nice if we could all hold hands and sing Kum Bah Ya together but thats not going to happen. However we do like to stick our nose in everything, but we just cant stick our nose in the sand either.
